We all want to save money on our energy bills whether it’s our home, a rental or a rehab. The first thing is to make sure when you replace an appliance make sure it has an ENERGY STAR rating.
 
Keep Winter Heating Costs Down: Your ceiling fans should be set to blow upward at the slowest speed in winter.
 
* Keep your thermostat below 65 F while you are away.
* You should keep your thermostat below 70 F when you are home.
* Check all weather stripping and caulking, make sure they are in good shape.
* All windows and doors, pet entrances and fireplace dampers are closed when not in use.
* Use a programmable thermostat.
* You should set your AC to “Auto” and not “On”.
* Always replace AC filters monthly and use pleated, don’t go cheap .
* Have your air ducts inspected.
* Keep you compressor clear of plants and insects.
* Keep most of your vents open to keep your air pressure balanced.
